“Of course, I have found out that I could make at least ten times as much money if I had a souvenir shop with items like the Statue of Liberty, from the size of a thimble to the size of a large container for umbrellas, or the greatest bestseller of two years ago, or a toilet seat ashtray with the wording 'Trapp Family Gift Shop, Stowe, Vermont,' printed on the outside.

But from the very beginning I decided that the shop would be a wonderful opportunity to give beauty a chance, so I only hand-pick things which strike me as beautiful and perfect in their realm.”
